Market Wrap – December 24 📉
Indian equities closed marginally lower amid thin holiday volumes. Markets overlooked the Commerce Secretary’s comment that India–US trade talks may conclude sooner than later, aimed at improving market access for exporters. The RBI announced OMO purchases and dollar–rupee swap auctions between Dec 29, 2025 and Jan 22, 2026, supporting liquidity. Sensex ended at 85,408 (-0.14%) and Nifty at 26,142 (-0.13%). Midcaps and smallcaps also closed in the red. Globally, European markets were shut for Christmas Eve, while Asian markets ended mixed amid subdued trading.
