, through its 50:50 JV Marelli Motherson Automotive Lighting India (MMLI), has inaugurated a new automotive lighting manufacturing facility in Sanand, Gujarat. The 8,200 sq. meter plant is dedicated to advanced exterior lighting systems and is equipped with high-tonnage multi-colour moulding machines (2,000T–2,700T), making it the first in India capable of producing edge-to-edge single-piece long lighting components. The facility marks key industry milestones, including localisation of the slimmest headlamp module and the country’s first single-piece end-to-end DRL and Rear Combination Lamps. The plant also incorporates rooftop solar power, with plans to source green energy, supporting the group’s sustainability goals.
