The Market Doesn't Test Intelligence. It Tests Discipline.

The market has a habit of making the majority feel intelligent at exactly the wrong time. Confidence peaks near market tops because recent gains make every decision look brilliant. Fear dominates near bottoms because recent losses make patience feel reckless. Most investors don't lose money because they lack information—they lose it because they mistake emotions for analysis. The market rewards discipline far more consistently than it rewards excitement. Successful investing is often about resisting the urge to act. You don't need to trade every breakout, chase every headline, or predict every move. Sometimes the highest-return decision is simply doing nothing while everyone else feels compelled to do something. In markets, activity feels productive, but patience is frequently the real edge.
