Where Are Mutual Funds Increasing Their Bets?

Mutual funds significantly increased their holdings in several large stocks during Q1 FY27. The biggest increases in holding value were seen in:

ICICIBANK
: +₹51,707 crore HDFC Bank: +₹37,985 crore Axis Bank: +₹18,944 crore Eternal: +₹17,009 crore Bajaj Finance: +₹16,544 crore L&T: +₹15,755 crore Adani Enterprises: +₹15,171 crore InterGlobe Aviation: +₹13,791 crore Kotak Mahindra Bank: +₹12,737 crore Maruti Suzuki: +₹10,205 crore Interestingly, Adani Enterprises saw the sharpest stock-price gain at 72.6% during the quarter, while Bajaj Finance gained 25.4%. Key takeaway: The data shows continued institutional preference for large private banks, financials, infrastructure and select consumption plays, but higher holding value can reflect both fresh buying and stock-price appreciation.
