JAIPRAKASH POWER VENTURES SHARES RISE UP TO 14%

JPPOWER
Jaiprakash Power Ventures shares surged as much as 14% during Monday’s trading session after the company reached a settlement with the National Asset Reconstruction Company Ltd over a ₹511 crore claim. The stock touched an intraday high of ₹17.49 per share on the NSE, marking a gain of nearly 14%. However, profit booking at higher levels later pared some of the gains, with the shares trading at ₹16.98, up 10.47%. The sharp rise Jaiprakash Power Ventures and NARCL had agreed to settle the matter for ₹511 crore as full and final payment. According to the company, the settlement is subject to the payment of ₹511 crore, fulfilment of certain other conditions, and execution of definitive agreements. The company also stated that the insolvency proceedings initiated under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code will be withdrawn once all the conditions outlined in the settlement terms are fulfilled.

Jaiprakash Power settling NARCL claim for Rs 511 crore

JPPOWER
has agreed to settle its claim with the National Asset Reconstruction Company Ltd. (NARCL) for ₹511 crore as full and final payment. The development is significant because the company had been facing insolvency proceedings initiated by NARCL earlier this year. The settlement provides a potential route towards withdrawal of the proceedings, subject to fulfilment of the agreed conditions. NARCL had filed an application under Section 7 of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code against Jaiprakash Power in February 2026, relating to a claim arising from a corporate guarantee provided by the company to Jaiprakash Associates. The amount cited in the original filing was approximately ₹511.7 crore, plus interest and other charges. Under the latest settlement, Jaiprakash Power will make a ₹511 crore payment, following which the IBC proceedings are expected to be withdrawn once all settlement conditions are fulfilled and definitive agreements are executed.

Jaiprakash Power: ₹511 Cr NARCL Settlement

JPPOWER
has agreed to a ₹511 crore full and final settlement with National Asset Reconstruction Company Limited (NARCL) relating to insolvency proceedings. The settlement covers claims connected with the company's insolvency proceedings. Under the agreed terms, Jaiprakash Power will pay ₹511 crore, after which the related proceedings under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code are expected to be withdrawn, subject to fulfilment of the settlement conditions. For the company, the key issue is not simply the settlement amount. The more important development is the potential removal of an insolvency-related overhang from the business. The next step is the actual completion of the settlement conditions and withdrawal of the proceedings. My view is that investors should focus on what the settlement means for the company's balance sheet after the payment. The ₹511 crore cash outflow needs to be assessed against available liquidity, debt obligations and future cash generation. I will watch the completion of the settlement, withdrawal of IBC proceedings and subsequent balance-sheet disclosures. Stance: Watching the balance-sheet impact and completion of the settlement. Fortis Healthcare: 400-Bed Hospital Agreement

FORTIS
has signed agreements to provide healthcare services at a 400-plus-bed hospital in Ashok Vihar, New Delhi. Fortis Healthcare has entered into definitive agreements with Seth Sunder Lal Jain Charitable Eye Hospital Society to provide healthcare services at the upcoming 400-plus-bed super speciality hospital. The hospital is expected to begin operations in 3–4 years, subject to the required approvals. Under the agreement, Fortis Hospotel, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fortis Healthcare, will receive long-term exclusive rights to provide specified inpatient healthcare services and specialised equipment. These include Cath Lab, LINAC, PET-CT and surgical robotics. The healthcare services agreement has a committed term of 29 years, with an option for further extension. For me, the key point is the duration of the agreement rather than just the 400-bed capacity. Fortis will not own the hospital's land and building, but it will provide healthcare services and clinical manpower while receiving an agreed service fee. This creates a different business model from directly owning and operating the entire hospital asset. I will watch the construction timeline, regulatory approvals and eventual ramp-up of the hospital. The financial contribution is unlikely to be immediate because operations are expected only after 3–4 years. Stance: Long-duration hospital expansion, with near-term earnings impact likely to be limited. Disclosure: Add your actual holding, position or interest disclosure before publishing.
