Bandhan Bank is undergoing a business transformation

BANDHANBNK
Bandhan Bank is undergoing a business transformation from its microfinance-heavy legacy toward a more diversified retail, MSME and secured-lending franchise. Q1 FY27 PAT rose 35% YoY to ₹502 crore, while gross advances grew 16.4% YoY to ₹1.56 lakh crore. NIM stood at 6.2%, supported by improving asset quality. Latest News: The key positive is continued improvement in asset quality and loan growth. However, management reduced FY27 exit RoA guidance to 1.2–1.4% from 1.6–1.8%, citing higher funding and technology costs, triggering a sharp post-results sell-off. Corporate Action/Outlook: Recent investor meetings indicate management is focused on diversification, profitability and strengthening the deposit franchise. The turnaround offers significant upside if RoA and margins recover, but funding costs, microfinance stress and the lower RoA guidance remain key risks.

BUY ON DIPOS BEST TO INVEST NEAR DEMAND ZONE

BANDHANBNK
Bandhan Bank is a private-sector bank that evolved from a microfinance-focused institution into a universal bank. The key story currently is diversification away from microfinance toward retail, housing and wholesale banking. The latest Q1 FY27 numbers show that this transition is progressing, but there are still asset-quality and margin-related concerns. 2. Fundamental Analysis Q1 FY27 — Key Numbers Parameter Q1 FY27 Advances ₹1,55,555 Cr Deposit ₹1,64,886 Cr PAT ₹502 Cr NII ₹2,921 Cr CASA Ratio 29% CRAR 18.2% GNPA 3.1% NNPA 0.9% The bank's advances grew 16.4% YoY, while PAT increased approximately 35% YoY to ₹502 crore. Provisions declined by more than 40% YoY, which was an important contributor to profit growth. Positive Factors 🟢 1. Strong loan growth Advances grew around 16% YoY. More importantly, the retail book excluding housing grew 45%, while wholesale banking grew 38%. 2. Profit recovery PAT increased 35% YoY to ₹502 crore. This indicates a significant improvement compared with the year-ago period. 3. Asset quality improving GNPA declined sequentially to 3.1%, while NNPA declined to 0.9%. That's encouraging, although the absolute GNPA level is still something investors need to monitor. 4. Lower provisions Loan-loss provisions were around ₹683 crore, down about 40% YoY.

Strong GIFT Nifty cues may support an early recovery after the recent losing streak. 📈 📈 Market Recap Indian equity benchmarks extended their losing streak as elevated crude oil prices and the lack of a diplomatic breakthrough following the expiry of the U.S.–Iran ceasefire weighed on sentiment. Brent crude above $91 and elevated global bond yields intensified risk aversion, putting further pressure on equities. 📈 Nifty Key Levels ▪️ Support: 24,000 | 23,920 ▪️ Resistance: 24,240 | 24,320 💰 FII/DII Flow ▪️ FII: +₹407.99 crore ▪️ DII: +₹3,973.72 crore 📊 Options Positioning ▪️ PCR: 0.81 (Cautious) – Call OI is higher than Put OI, indicating a cautious near-term setup. ▪️ Resistance: 24,200–24,500 zone, with strong Call OI concentration at 24,200, 24,300 and 24,500. ▪️ Support: 24,000–24,200 zone, with the highest Put OI at 24,000, followed by 24,200. ▪️ Max Pain: 24,200 ▪️ Interpretation: PCR at 0.81 indicates a cautious market structure.
