Top 10 Most Valued Firms: Bharti Airtel, Reliance lead

Top 10 Most Valued Firms: The combined market capitalisation of seven of the 10 most-valued companies declined by Rs 1.13 lakh crore last week, with Bharti Airtel and Reliance Industries witnessing the steepest losses amid a broader bearish trend in the equity market. Last week, the BSE Sensex fell 276.32 points, or 0.35 per cent, while the NSE Nifty declined 76.35 points, or 0.31 per cent. "Indian equity markets ended the week on a cautious note, extending their recent corrective phase as concerns over global interest rates, geopolitical uncertainty and volatility surrounding the new closing auction session weighed on investor sentiment," PTI quoted Ajit Mishra -- SVP, Research, Religare Broking Ltd.

Airtel Leads July Mobile Subscriber Additions

BHARTIARTL
Airtel continued to add subscribers at a healthy pace in July, and for me the important part is that it remained ahead of Reliance Jio in monthly net additions. Airtel added around 26.8 lakh mobile subscribers during the month, compared with approximately 24.4 lakh additions by Jio. This took Airtel’s wireless subscriber base to about 48.94 crore, while Jio remained much larger overall at around 50.60 crore subscribers. What I find encouraging is that the overall telecom market is still expanding. India added around 55.38 lakh mobile subscribers during July, taking the total wireless subscriber base to approximately 128.79 crore. Another interesting point is the continued pressure on Vodafone Idea, which lost around 2.40 lakh mobile subscribers during the month. In my view, this shows that subscriber growth continues to remain concentrated among the stronger operators. For Airtel, consistent subscriber additions are important because a larger customer base can support revenue growth, especially when combined with better monetisation and higher-value services. I would continue to track whether Airtel can maintain this pace while improving revenue per user rather than looking at subscriber additions alone. Learning Outcome: Subscriber additions show customer momentum, but ARPU and monetisation are equally important when analysing telecom companies.

bharti airtel we need to wait for the support levels to buy

BHARTIARTL
Bharti Airtel is currently around ₹1,882 as of the 28 Aug 2026 close. The stock is about 13.5% below its 52-week high of ₹2,174.70, so the recent structure is showing some weakness. 📊 Technical View Current Zone: ₹1,880–1,900 Immediate Support ₹1,850–1,870 — important near-term support zone ₹1,800–1,820 — stronger positional support Below ₹1,800 → structure can weaken considerably Resistance ₹1,920–1,950 — immediate resistance ₹2,000–2,020 — major psychological/technical hurdle ₹2,100–2,175 — previous major high zone The stock recently fell from around ₹1,940 to ₹1,878, with higher volume on 27 August, when it declined 1.42%. On 28 August it recovered marginally to ₹1,882. So, ₹1,850–1,870 is the key make-or-break zone. Bullish scenario: If Airtel sustains above ₹1,870 and then decisively crosses ₹1,950, the stock can attempt ₹2,000 → ₹2,050 → ₹2,100. Bearish scenario: If ₹1,850 breaks decisively, expect weakness towards ₹1,800–1,820. 💰 Fundamental Trigger The fundamental story remains strong. Q1 FY27 revenue increased 18.4% YoY to ₹58,539 crore, while net profit rose 37.3% to ₹8,167 crore. ARPU improved to ₹264, up from ₹250 a year earlier. Airtel also added 26.88 lakh mobile subscribers in July, the highest addition among the major operators that month.
