CG Power: OSAT plant live, order book at Rs 18,965 crore

CGPOWER
CG Power and Industrial Solutions (NSE: CGPOWER) is a Murugappa Group company making motors, drives, transformers, switchgear and railway products. Its subsidiaries CG Semi and Axiro Semiconductor cover outsourced assembly and testing, and chip design for radio frequency and SATCOM applications. What happened: Q1 FY27 consolidated revenue rose 14% to Rs 3,281 crore; EBITDA grew 17% to Rs 481 crore; EBITDA margin expanded 50 bps to 14.7%; net profit grew 16% to Rs 308 crore. The semiconductor drag weighed Rs 43 crore or 132 bps on consolidated margins. CG Semi’s G1 OSAT plant in Sanand, Gujarat commenced commercial operations on 4 July 2026. Why it matters: The consolidated order book jumped 45% to Rs 18,965 crore, giving ~1.5 years of forward visibility. Power business growth drove the bulk of the increase. Renesas has committed to roughly 50% of combined G1 and G2 OSAT capacity; confidential customers cover significant remaining output. Management expects the semiconductor backlog to double at the current execution pace and is reviewing ISM 2.0 subsidy guidelines. Axiro is already revenue-generating with double-digit top-line growth. What I am watching: G1 ramp pace and G2 timeline, Renesas offtake converting into booked revenue, margin drag narrowing as semiconductor utilisation climbs, and power order conversion from the Rs 17,555 crore standalone backlog. My stance: The core industrial business is steady. The semiconductor bet is early-stage and margin-dilutive for now. At a PE of 80x-plus on near-term earnings, the stock prices in a successful semiconductor scale-up, not just a solid industrial compounder. I do not hold a position in CG Power and Industrial Solutions at the time of writing. This is not investment advice.

CG Power slips below averages as 840 becomes critical

CGPOWER
closed near ₹856 after a weak session that tested ₹840 intraday. The latest candle reflects continued selling pressure after the stock failed to hold the ₹880–₹900 range. Price is below the 20-day average at ₹888 and the 55-day average near ₹882. This moving-average zone has turned into immediate resistance. MACD is below its signal line with a negative histogram, confirming that short-term momentum remains bearish. ₹840 is the crucial support. A sustained break below it can bring ₹820 into focus. On the upside, the stock needs to reclaim ₹882–₹888 before the structure can improve. Industrial capital expenditure, power-equipment orders and execution remain important long-term drivers, but the daily chart is currently corrective.

India’s Power-Grid Expansion: Infrastructure Opportunity

Imagine India’s electricity demand rising every year—but generation alone is not enough. Power must travel efficiently from where it is produced to where it is consumed. That makes **transmission, renewable integration and battery storage** increasingly important. A recent Business Standard report highlights IndiGrid’s ambition to take its AUM from ₹34,041 crore to around **₹45,000 crore over the next 2–3 years**, supported by approximately ₹13,000 crore of projects under execution through EnerGrid. The portfolio currently has roughly 75% transmission and 25% renewables, while battery storage is becoming an important growth area. ### 🔎 NIFTY 500 Stocks to Study - **

POWERGRID
** – power transmission - **NTPC Ltd (NTPC)** – power generation and renewable expansion - **Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL)** – power equipment - **Siemens Ltd (SIEMENS)** – electrification and grid technology - **ABB India (ABB)** – power and automation solutions - **CG Power & Industrial Solutions (CGPOWER)** – electrical equipment - **Suzlon Energy (SUZLON)** – renewable energy/wind infrastructure These names should be treated as **stocks to study within the theme, not buy/sell recommendations**. The opportunity comes with risks including high project competition, aggressive bidding, leverage, execution delays and changing returns. IndiGrid itself highlighted aggressive bidding and project viability as sector risks. *India’s energy transition needs generation, transmission and storage together, creating opportunities across multiple infrastructure businesses—not just renewable-energy producers.* **Educational Disclaimer:** This post is solely for educational purposes and should not be considered investment advice, a stock recommendation, or a solicitation to buy or sell securities. CG Power & Industrial Solutions on different parameter

CGPOWER
Quality :- CG Power & Industrial Solutions Ltd continues to demonstrate robust fundamental strength, particularly in its quality metrics. The company maintains an excellent quality grade, supported by a strong long-term return on equity (ROE) averaging 32.05%. This figure underscores the firm’s ability to generate substantial returns on shareholder capital over an extended period. Additionally, the company’s net sales have exhibited a consistent annual growth rate of 28.56%, while operating profit has expanded at an even more impressive annual rate of 47.47%. These figures indicate a solid operational performance and effective cost management, contributing to the company’s overall quality profile. Valuation :- Despite the strong fundamentals, the valuation aspect presents a contrasting picture. The stock is currently assessed as very expensive, trading at a price-to-book value of 18, which is significantly higher than its peers’ historical averages. This premium valuation reflects market expectations of sustained growth but also suggests limited margin for error. The company’s ROE for the most recent period stands at 15.4, which, while respectable, is notably lower than its long-term average. The price-to-earnings-to-growth (PEG) ratio of 4.8 further indicates that the stock’s price incorporates substantial growth expectations. Investors should be aware that such elevated valuation levels may increase sensitivity to any adverse developments. Technical :- Over the past six months, the stock has delivered a return of 30.41%, and year-to-date gains stand at 39.61%. These figures indicate that the stock has outperformed many broader market indices and sector peers in recent periods. However, the three-month return shows a slight decline of 0.57%, suggesting some recent consolidation or profit-taking. The stock’s one-year return of 21.02% further confirms its ability to generate market-beating performance over a longer horizon.

CG Power & Industrial Solutions Ltd – Technical Market View

CGPOWER
CG Power & Industrial Solutions Ltd is showing a mixed-to-cautious technical structure on the chart. After facing resistance around the ₹920–₹930 zone, the stock witnessed selling pressure and moved towards the lower support area. The recent candles, however, show some buying interest emerging near the ₹855–₹862 zone, making this an important area to watch. On the upside, the immediate resistance zone is around ₹907–₹931. A sustained move above this area could improve the short-term structure and bring the higher resistance levels of ₹954, ₹977 and ₹1,000 into focus. A decisive breakout above ₹931 with strong price action and volume could therefore be an important technical development. On the downside, ₹861–₹855 remains a crucial support zone. If this area fails to hold, the next important support levels visible on the chart are around ₹838 and ₹815. Sustained trading below these levels could indicate increasing downside pressure. The chart also highlights a Right Shoulder formation, so traders should closely monitor the neckline/support area and wait for confirmation rather than relying on the pattern alone. 🔹 Current Zone: Around ₹880–₹885 🔹 Key Support: ₹861–₹855 | ₹838 | ₹815 🔹 Key Resistance: ₹907–₹931 | ₹954 | ₹977 | ₹1,000 🔹 Short-Term Bias: Neutral to Cautious 🔹 Key Focus: Support reaction, volume confirmation & breakout above resistance 📌 AALGO BREATHS SEBI Registered Research Analyst For educational and informational purposes only. CG POWER — POWERING INDIA'S NEXT INDUSTRIAL CYCLE ⚡🚀

CGPOWER
Transmission. Transformers. Railways. Data centres. Semiconductors. CG Power is sitting at the intersection of several of India's biggest capex themes. And the order book is already showing the demand. Q1 FY27 standalone sales grew 16% YoY, while PBT increased 27%, with 140 bps of margin expansion. More importantly, the unexecuted order book reached ₹17,333 crore, up 45% YoY. Consolidated order backlog stood even higher at ₹18,965 crore. But the real growth engine is Power Systems. In Q3 FY26, Power Systems revenue jumped 44% YoY, while PBIT surged 75% and margin expanded to 21.4%. Its order backlog reached ₹11,289 crore — up 89% YoY. Why does this matter? India needs more electricity. More transmission. More transformers. More grid equipment. And increasingly, data centres and industrial electrification are creating additional demand for high-voltage equipment. CG is responding with capacity expansion, including new EHV switchgear manufacturing facilities and transformer capacity additions. Then comes the wild card: SEMICONDUCTORS. CG Power has started commercial OSAT production at its G1 facility, creating an entirely new business vertical alongside its traditional electrical-equipment franchise. The company is targeting further capacity through G2, while customer ramp-up remains an important milestone. And this is where the story gets interesting. Old business generates cash. Power capex drives growth. Capacity expansion increases scale. Semiconductors create optionality. FY26 order intake was already strong at ₹5,335 crore in Q4, taking the year-end unexecuted order book to ₹17,107 crore. The risks are equally clear: commodity inflation, execution delays, competitive intensity, slower transmission/distribution capex and continued investment losses from the semiconductor business.
