Hindustan Zinc Nifty Metal Gainer this week

Hindustan Zinc Limited

HINDZINC
gained 2.22 per cent on Friday, September 4, 2026 — the third-biggest gainer in the Nifty Metal index on a day when the sector rose 1.07 per cent to emerge as the best-performing sectoral index, with APL Apollo Tubes up 4.20 per cent and Tata Steel up 2.49 per cent leading the pack. Hindustan Zinc Limited rising on Friday adds a zinc-specific dimension to the week's metal sector story. While Hindalco's aluminium story has been driven by Norsk Hydro's Alunorte production swings, and Tata Steel's story has been anchored to global crude steel supply-demand dynamics, Hindustan Zinc's performance is primarily a function of LME zinc prices, Indian domestic infrastructure demand, and the silver byproduct revenue stream that makes it one of the most unique commodity plays on the Nifty. Silver prices have risen approximately 18 per cent in calendar year 2026, driven by industrial demand from solar panel manufacturing and the EV battery sector — both of which use silver in quantities that are growing faster than annual mine supply can accommodate. As India's largest zinc and lead producer with significant silver output, Hindustan Zinc benefits directly from that silver price appreciation without any change in its operational profile. The Vedanta Group holds the majority stake in Hindustan Zinc following the government's partial divestment in prior years. The company declared a first interim dividend for FY27 — human RA must verify the declared amount and record date before publishing. Q1 FY27 revenue and profit metrics are available on the company's investor relations page and should be verified before insertion.

Hindustan Zinc: Bullish Setup Targets Recent Swing High

HINDZINC
has staged a strong reversal after finding support around its key moving-average cluster. The stock is now trading above its 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200-day averages, keeping the broader technical structure constructive. The recent pullback appears to have been absorbed near the 590–580 support zone, where multiple averages are closely aligned. Price has subsequently regained momentum, suggesting that the consolidation phase may be largely complete. A sustained move above the 605–610 region could strengthen the recovery and bring the recent swing high near 620–625 back into focus. A decisive breakout above this zone would further improve the technical setup and signal continuation of the broader uptrend. RSI remains above the neutral 50 level, indicating positive momentum, while MACD is showing some moderation but remains supportive of the overall structure. Overall, the chart suggests that the stock has completed its pullback and is now positioned for a potential retest of the recent swing high, with 590–580 emerging as the key support zone to watch.

Tata Steel Nifty Metal Gainer September 4 2026

Tata Steel Limited

TATASTEEL
gained 2.49 per cent to Rs 188.79 on Friday, September 4, 2026 — the second-biggest gainer among major stocks and the standout performer within the Nifty Metal index, which rose 1.07 per cent to close at 13,317.45, emerging as the best-performing sectoral index of the session. Tata Steel Limited leading the metal sector on Friday extends a trend that has made Nifty Metal one of the more consistent sector-level stories of the past week. While the Nifty 50 lost 3.38 per cent over the past year, the Nifty Metal index has soared 38 per cent in the same period — one of the widest sector-versus-index divergences currently active on the Indian market. Friday's metal sector strength was supported by two global catalysts. Chinese AI stocks rose sharply after OpenAI launched GPT-6 Astra — which investors read as a positive signal for Chinese AI developer demand and, by extension, for Chinese industrial activity and steel consumption. Separately, easing US Treasury yields strengthened the case for a softer dollar, which historically supports commodity prices denominated in USD. Within the Nifty Metal index on Friday, APL Apollo Tubes led with a 4.20 per cent gain, followed by Tata Steel at 2.49 per cent and Hindustan Zinc at 2.22 per cent. The index's 1.07 per cent gain on a day when the Nifty itself barely moved — up just 0.10 per cent — is a clean signal of sector-specific institutional buying rather than broad market participation. The 52-week range for Tata Steel runs from Rs 121.50 to Rs 201.30.

Hindustan Zinc Q1 FY27: Record Profit Up 145%, EBITDA

HINDZINC
][***** shares trade at Rs 584.36 on the linked page (NSE near Rs 590) (4 Sep 2026, 09:33 AM IST), up 41 percent in a year, flat on the month, 20 percent under the Rs 733 high. P/E 14.5; about 12x on Q1 annualised. My view: the best operating quarter in its history, priced as a cyclical should be. Fourteen times trailing looks cheap only because zinc is at a four-year high and silver drove the growth; that is price, not volume, and the flat month says the market knows it. Three overhangs cap the multiple: the government stake, deferred, not gone; the promoter's financing needs, which lean on this dividend stream; and the SEBI and ED disclosures. Hold; fresh entry is a metal-price call, best made on sector dips to the Rs 552 to 578 August base. Levels: Rs 552 to 578 support; Rs 620 to 624, the 26 August spike, to clear; Rs 733 the high. Hindustan Zinc Granted Mining Lease Intent

HINDZINC
has received a Letter of Intent from the Karnataka Government for a mining lease spanning 314.21 hectares of the Gundlupet Rare Earth Elements and Yttrium Block. This development formalizes the preferred bidder status previously disclosed by the company, allowing it to advance preparation for exploration and mining of high-tech strategic materials. Hindustan Zinc's expansion into rare earth elements represents a strategic pivot from a pure-play zinc, lead, and silver miner to a diversified critical metals giant. The Gundlupet block, along with the Nawatola Laband block in Uttar Pradesh, positions the company as an early mover in India's highly strategic rare earth segment. While zinc and silver will remain the core earnings drivers in the near to medium term, these critical mineral blocks establish high-value long-term assets that are protected by government import substitution initiatives. Crucially, the company's exceptional profitability—with Q1 FY27 net profits surging 145% YoY—ensures it can self-fund the multi-year development timelines associated with these advanced mineral blocks. By securing the Letter of Intent for the Gundlupet block, Hindustan Zinc is translating its strategic intent into hard, state-backed concessions. While the financial contribution of these rare earth reserves is several years away, the regulatory speed at which these blocks are being processed highlights the firm's execution capability and its alignment with India's sovereign resource goals. Title: Nifty Metal Gains 7% in August on Supply Constraints

Nifty metal index has emerged as the standout sectoral performer in August, rising around 7% despite a choppy broader market. The rally has been supported by firm global metal prices, a recovery in domestic steel prices and tightening supply conditions across several base metals. Analysts believe the current uptrend is being driven more by supply constraints than by a sudden surge in demand, which could provide greater durability to the rally. Copper, aluminium, tin and zinc remain among the preferred metals, with supply disruptions and capacity restrictions supporting prices. Copper continues to trade near record levels, while expectations for refined production growth in 2026 have been lowered, adding to supply concerns. Aluminium is also benefiting from structural supply tightness linked to China’s capacity restrictions and environmental curbs. In the steel segment, domestic long steel prices have recovered around 12% over the past month after declining sharply during June and July. However, rising coking coal prices and relatively weak iron ore prices remain key risks for steelmakers. Analysts are therefore more positive on copper and aluminium, while steel is viewed as a potential catch-up trade. Going ahead, Chinese steel production and exports, raw material prices, global inventories, energy costs, the US Federal Reserve and the dollar will remain important factors in determining whether the metal rally can sustain.
