IDBI Bank Q2 FY27: Total Business Crosses ₹6.27 Lakh Crore

IDBI
IDBI Bank reported robust growth in its provisional business figures for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, with total business rising 18% year-on-year to ₹6.27 lakh crore. The milestone marks the first time the lender’s combined deposits and advances have surpassed the ₹6 lakh crore mark. Total deposits climbed 17% to ₹3.56 lakh crore, while net advances expanded 18% to ₹2.72 lakh crore. Low-cost CASA deposits also grew 12% to around ₹1.56 lakh crore, supporting the overall deposit base. The strong top-line expansion comes against a backdrop of margin pressure. In the preceding June quarter, net interest margin, CASA ratio and operating profit had shown declines, reflecting industry-wide competition for deposits and higher funding costs. Full Q2 financial results, including profitability metrics, are awaited.

IDBI Bank crosses ₹84 resistance! watch levels

IDBI Bank crosses ₹84 resistance IDBI Bank Limited (NSE: IDBI) closed at ₹84.40 on September 25, gaining 2.18%. The stock moved above its ₹84.30 second-resistance level. Why it matters The stock also cleared the first resistance at ₹83.45. The technical pivot is ₹82.40, while the next resistance is ₹86.20. Support levels are ₹81.55, ₹80.50 and ₹78.60. Volume stood at about 1.83 crore shares during the session, showing active participation. The important technical development is the move above ₹84.30, which puts ₹86.20 as the next resistance level to monitor. My view The short-term structure has improved after IDBI Bank cleared both resistance levels. I would watch whether ₹84.30 can hold as support after the breakout.

Coal India unit SECL plans $800 million IPO

Research Analyst: UJVIN NEVATIA (PROPRIETOR: NEVAT INVESTMENTS) | SEBI Registration No.: INH100009628 Coal India Limited (

COALINDIA
) subsidiary South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) has reportedly hired investment banks for a potential IPO of up to $800 million. The company could file its draft prospectus as early as December 2026. What happened? According to Bloomberg, SECL has appointed ICICI Securities, SBI Capital Markets, Motilal Oswal Investment Advisors and IDBI Capital to manage the proposed issue. Coal India is expected to sell part of its stake. The issue size and timeline remain under discussion. SECL operates 60 coal mines across Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. Why does it matter? The proposed IPO is part of Coal India's strategy to list its subsidiaries separately. Mahanadi Coalfields has already filed draft IPO papers, with Coal India proposing to sell up to 66.18 crore shares. Separate listings could establish independent market valuations for these businesses and generate proceeds for the parent company. My view The important distinction is between unlocking shareholder value and raising growth capital. If SECL's IPO is entirely an offer for sale, the proceeds will go to Coal India rather than SECL. The financial benefit to Coal India will depend on the final valuation, stake dilution and how the proceeds are used. SECL's production costs, profitability and mine reserves will be important when assessing its standalone valuation. What I am watching next I would track the draft prospectus, final issue size, stake dilution and SECL's financial disclosures. These will provide a clearer basis for evaluating the proposed listing. No Recommendations Source: NDTV Profit / Bloomberg Disclosure: I, my entity, associates or relatives do not have any holding, position or other material interest in Coal India Limited.

CSB Bank Q1 RoA falls to 1.09% as margins narrow

CSB Bank Limited [NSE:

CSBBANK
] reported a weak first quarter as its return on assets fell to 1.09% due to margin compression and lower non-interest income. Despite this drop, the management expects performance to improve and has maintained its full-year RoA guidance of 1.3-1.5%. Advances grew 24% year-on-year to drive business volume, but the growth was led by low-yielding wholesale loans while high-yielding retail loans contracted. Net interest margin narrowed 17 basis points to 3.66% as the cost of funds rose to 6.55%. High reliance on bulk deposits, which make up 42% of total deposits, along with a low CASA ratio of 19.4%, continues to squeeze profitability. On asset quality, gross NPA stood at 1.75% and net NPA at 0.39%, supported by a low unsecured exposure of around 2%. Headline valuations look reasonable after recent stock price corrections, but the core issue remains the quality of earnings and deposit mix. Wholesale growth dilutes overall margins, while high-cost bulk deposits keep liability costs elevated. Furthermore, a potential stake sale by promoter Fairfax to fund its participation in the IDBI Bank privatization poses a supply overhang on the stock. Investors should track whether the net interest margin recovers toward the management target of 3.75% in the second quarter. Key monitorables include the traction in retail and SME lending to reduce gold loan concentration, alongside progress on retail deposit gathering to lift the CASA ratio. The stock offers a tactical trading opportunity given expected near-term operational improvement, but long-term upside depends on structural liability changes. Importance of a Bullish Candlestick Pattern at Trendline

IDBI
Importance of a Bullish Candlestick Pattern at Trendline Support When a bullish candlestick pattern forms exactly near a well-established trendline support zone, it creates a strong technical confluence. The trendline indicates that buyers have previously defended that price area, while the bullish candle provides price-action confirmation that selling pressure may be weakening and buyers are returning. Common bullish patterns to watch: 🟢 Bullish Engulfing — strong shift from sellers to buyers. 🟢 Hammer — rejection of lower prices and buying near support. 🟢 Morning Star — potential reversal after a decline. 🟢 Bullish Marubozu — strong buying pressure during the session. Why the combination is important Trendline Support + Bullish Candle + Volume = Stronger Confirmation For example: Price falls → reaches trendline support → forms Hammer/Bullish Engulfing → volume increases → next candle closes above the pattern high This provides multiple confirmations rather than relying on the candlestick alone. Higher volume and follow-through can make the signal more convincing. Simple market interpretation “A bullish candlestick at trendline support suggests that sellers are losing control at an important demand zone and buyers are attempting to defend the support.” However, it is not a guaranteed reversal signal. Ideally, wait for confirmation through the next candle, volume and a close above the bullish pattern's high. In short: A bullish candle at a random location is less meaningful; a bullish candle forming at a repeatedly tested trendline support zone carries much more technical significance because both price structure and price action are pointing in the same direction.
