’s Multi-Vertical Pivot

ANGELONE
is transitioning from a traditional equity broking app into an AI-native financial "super-app." The company aims to cross-sell a broader suite of financial products—including margin trade funding (MTF), wealth management via Ionic Wealth, insurance, and asset management—to mitigate its cyclical dependency on pure brokerage fees. Strong Q4 FY26 Financial Rebound: The company delivered record-breaking numbers in Q4 FY26, with revenue from operations climbing 38.2% YoY to ₹1,459 crore and PAT surging 83.5% YoY to ₹320 crore. This growth was fueled by an expansion in F&O activity alongside a sharp recovery in operating margins to 41%, aided by the exit of heavy IPL sponsorship costs. FY26 Consolidation and Softness: Despite a stellar final quarter, FY26 headline annual performance showed signs of a transition trough. Total revenues marginally dipped by 1.94% to ₹5,137 crore, and PAT fell 21.8% to ₹913 crore. This contraction stemmed from lower overall order volumes compared to FY25 peak levels and structural revenue erosion from SEBI’s "True-to-Label" pricing mandates. Core Growth Catalysts: A major structural highlight is the rapid expansion of Angel One's MTF book, which grew 41% YoY to reach ₹5,449 crore, providing a high-quality, recurring interest income stream. Furthermore, the firm has aggressively integrated AI, which now augments over 50% of its engineering code to streamline growth and optimize operational costs. Regulatory Obstacles and Leadership Risks: Severe headwinds persist, primarily driven by SEBI's tightening grip on retail F&O regulations, a segment that yields nearly half of Angel One's gross broking revenue. Additionally, the company faces deeply negative annual operating cash flows (₹-4,142 crore in FY26) due to MTF capital recycling, alongside recent high-profile leadership exits in its product and AMC verticals

India's digital payments landscape achieved a significant milestone in May 2026, with Unified Payments Interface (UPI) transactions hitting a record Rs. Value at 29.90 lakh crore (US$ 312.21 billion), indicating the ongoing growth of digital financial services throughout the nation. Data from the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) indicates that transaction value rose by 19% compared to last year and by 3% compared to the previous month, underscoring ongoing growth in the adoption of digital payments by consumers and businesses. The volume of transactions hit a record high of 23.20 billion, up from 22.35 billion in April 2026. Industry specialists linked the growth to elevated consumer spending throughout the summer travel period; a rise in transactions associated with IPL 2026 and greater acceptance of digital payment systems in both urban and rural areas. The impressive performance highlights the increasing incorporation of digital payments into routine economic activities and strengthens UPI’s status as one of the globe's largest real-time payment systems. The persistent growth in UPI adoption indicates the expanding reach of digital financial systems and the heightened preference for smooth, instant payment options. Industry stakeholders pointed out that decreasing average transaction sizes suggest greater acceptance by small merchants and regular consumers instead of a focus on high-value transactions. The growth of credit-on-UPI services and the increasing global acceptance of UPI in various countries are anticipated to open new opportunities for expansion in the digital payment ecosystem. India's digital payment ecosystem is reaping the rewards of enhanced financial inclusion, increased smartphone usage, and continuous advancements in fintech services. The recent achievement bolsters the nation’s position in digital payments and aids wider initiatives to promote a technology-oriented, inclusive, and cashless economy.

Bullish on Balkrishna Industries Ltd — strong structure, improving momentum & sector tailwinds indicate potential upside.

BALKRISIND
It looks fundamentally and technically attractive around the ₹1961 zone for a medium to long term bullish setup. The company continues to strengthen its position in the off-highway tyre (OHT) segment globally, where it already commands a strong export-driven market share. Recent quarterly numbers indicate improving operational momentum with revenue growth, margin recovery, and strong profitability trends despite global demand fluctuations. Q3 FY26 results showed sequential improvement in revenue, operating profit and net profit, signaling demand stabilization and operational efficiency. One of the strongest bullish triggers is the company’s strategic expansion beyond its traditional export-led business. BKT is now aggressively entering the Indian consumer tyre segment, particularly the two-wheeler market, targeting production of 1 million tyres per month by 2030. This diversification can significantly expand total addressable market and reduce dependence on industrial tyre cycles. The company is also increasing domestic brand visibility through large-scale IPL marketing campaigns, indicating management’s intent to build a strong consumer-facing brand in India. This transition from a pure B2B export business toward a hybrid consumer + industrial business could improve long-term valuation multiples. Financially, the balance sheet remains stable with manageable debt levels and healthy cash generation. The company has also maintained shareholder-friendly capital allocation through consistent dividend payouts, including a recent ₹4 interim dividend declaration. From a sectoral perspective, long-term demand drivers remain favorable due to global infrastructure growth, agriculture mechanization, mining activity, construction equipment demand, and replacement tyre demand.
