RVNL bounce needs ₹201 to validate improving momentum

Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd closed near ₹199.45 after a small rebound from the recent low zone, but the broader daily trend remains weak. Price is still below the 20-day moving average at ₹200.58 and well under the 55-day average near ₹212.17. This keeps the stock in a lower-high, lower-low structure that has persisted since the sharp decline from the early-2026 highs.

RVNL
The latest move is notable because MACD has improved before price. The MACD line at approximately -4.14 is above the -4.85 signal line, and the histogram has turned positive around 0.71. That is an early bullish crossover, but it is occurring below the zero line, meaning it reflects fading downside momentum rather than a confirmed trend reversal. ₹195–190 is the key support band. A break below ₹190 can extend the decline toward ₹185 or lower. For the bounce to gain credibility, RVNL first needs to reclaim ₹200–201, the 20-day average zone. The more meaningful resistance is ₹212, where the 55-day average sits; closing above it would challenge the existing bearish structure. RVNL’s railway-infrastructure theme can attract sharp momentum moves, but this chart still calls for confirmation. Treat the positive MACD histogram as an alert, then look for price to reclaim ₹201 and build higher lows before assuming the downtrend has turned.

Rail Vikas Nigam ends flat after order cancellation

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited shares closed 0.03% lower at Rs 196.95 after East Coast Railway cancelled an order. Support is at Rs 194 and resistance at Rs 214.30. Rail Vikas Nigam Limited [

RVNL
] shares closed 0.03% lower at Rs 196.95 on 5 October. East Coast Railway has cancelled a video surveillance order that the company had won. The company had received a letter of award for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of an IP-based video surveillance system for the rolling stock of East Coast Railway. The order was cancelled by mutual consent and without any financial repercussions. The stock opened at Rs 198.00, touched a high of Rs 199.90 and a low of Rs 195.34. The flat close suggests the market did not react sharply to the news. The major trend is strongly bearish. The price has fallen over 70% from its July 2024 peak, and the RSI reads 37.02, below the midpoint. That shows weak momentum. It does not show that the fall is over. Rs 194 is the key support. A fall below it would put lower levels in view. On the upside, Rs 214.30 is the key resistance. A move above it would bring a recovery attempt into focus. Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd management change in its function

RVNL
Director (Finance) change: The Ministry of Railways entrusted the additional charge of Director (Finance) to Ms. Neeti Sarkar with effect from September 29, 2026, replacing Shri Abhishek Kumar. This is reflected in RVNL’s exchange filings and share‑price data pages. Additional L1 wins from Central Railway and East Coast Railway for civil/track works. These wins support order‑book visibility but execution timelines are spread over multiple quarters. Share price and rating: RVNL shares were around ₹201–₹209 on October 1, with a market cap near ₹42,000–₹43,800 crore and down sharply over one year. MarketsMojo rates RVNL a “Strong Sell” (Mojo Score ~23), citing negative financial trend, 27% drop in June‑quarter PAT to ₹159.36 crore, and weak momentum (1‑month, 3‑month and 6‑month returns all negative).

Rail Vikas Nigam wins ₹404.88 cr East Coast order.

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (

RVNL
) has received a letter of acceptance from East Coast Railway for infrastructure works worth ₹404.88 crore. The project covers roadbed, bridges and electrification between Khurda Road and Vizianagaram. The contract includes construction of roadbed, minor and major bridges, track linking and related electrification works. It forms part of third-line development on the Bhadrak-Vizianagaram section. The order adds to RVNL’s order book in the normal course of its railway infrastructure business. The key figure is the ₹404.88 crore LOA value. This supports revenue visibility for RVNL over the execution period. Other railway PSUs such as IRCON and RITES may see limited direct impact. Near-term price reaction could be mildly positive on the order win. Risks include execution delays or cost overruns on large infrastructure packages. We have no financial interest in this news.
