KPR Mill - Recovery or breakout, Price leads with momentum

KPRMILL
posted consolidated Q1 FY27 revenue of about Rs 1,854 Cr, up close to 10%, with net profit around Rs 259 Cr, up roughly 21.5%. Operating margin improved to about 20.2% from 18.4%, so profit grew faster than sales. A Rs 1,225 Cr expansion across textiles and apparel has been announced. The risk here is external. Textile exporters carry US tariff exposure, and cotton prices and the rupee both feed straight into the spread. Margin gains of this kind can reverse without the company doing anything wrong. On the chart, something has clearly turned. Price at 1,186 is 4.3% above the 20 EMA and 7% above the 50. RSI is 64, up from 48.7 twenty sessions ago. The stock has gained 10.2% in the last month, and the 50 EMA has been rising about 3.5% over 20 sessions. Now the part I want you to hold onto. Despite all of that, the stock is still 11% below its 60 day high of 1,334. That combination has a name worth using. This is a recovery, not a breakout. Momentum has returned inside a range the stock already traded, so the buyers are working through supply left behind by earlier holders. A breakout is when price clears ground nobody is trapped in. The two need different expectations. Recoveries stall at old levels more often than they sail through them. Above 1,334 this becomes a breakout. Below the 50 EMA at 1,108 the recovery loses its footing.

SAIL: LIC Cuts Stake by 2 Percentage Points

!SAIL (SAIL) will remain in focus after LIC reduced its stake in the company by 2 percentage points, from 6.63% to 4.63%. LIC isn't a promoter or founder here. It's a large institutional investor, India's biggest insurer, adjusting a portfolio holding. 1. Institutional investors like LIC hold stakes across hundreds of companies as part of a broader investment portfolio. A 2-percentage-point trim in one holding is a routine portfolio management decision, not necessarily a specific verdict on that one company, the same way a mutual fund regularly rebalances across its many holdings. 2. This is a different signal than a promoter selling. A promoter reducing their stake can raise questions about their own conviction in the business they run. An institutional investor trimming a position more commonly reflects portfolio-level decisions, profit booking, rebalancing toward other opportunities, or adjusting sector exposure, rather than a specific negative view on SAIL itself. 3. The scale matters for context. Falling from 6.63% to 4.63% is a real, meaningful reduction, not a token adjustment, worth watching whether this continues in subsequent quarters or was a one-time trim. The takeaway: A large institutional shareholder trimming a stake isn't automatically the same kind of signal as a promoter selling. Institutions manage large, diversified portfolios and regularly adjust individual holdings for reasons that may have little to do with their view on that specific company's future.

SEPC Limited (Shriram EPC) – Fundamental & Latest News

SEPC
SEPC has shown a significant improvement in its fundamentals, with FY26 total income rising to ₹1,085.8 crore from ₹646 crore in FY25, EBITDA reaching ₹108.9 crore, and net profit more than doubling to ₹53.5 crore. The company has also reported a strong order book of around ₹10,000 crore, providing multi-year revenue visibility. In FY26, SEPC secured several important orders, including major infrastructure/industrial projects, while it also received an ₹854.57 crore Letter of Acceptance from SAIL-ISP, Burnpur, which can strengthen its order pipeline. The company has been expanding internationally and announced the strategic acquisition of a 90% stake in UAE-based Avenir International Engineers and Consultants LLC, which could support its overseas EPC business. However, investors should also monitor execution risk, working-capital requirements, debt/cash-flow position, margins and the possibility of order cancellations; the broader EPC sector is currently facing some margin pressure from higher commodity, freight and insurance costs. Overall, strong order-book growth, improving profitability and new project wins are positive fundamental factors, while execution, cash flows and margins remain key risks.
