VA Tech Wabag Tests Range Top on Sector Rally

WABAG
shares rose nearly 6% to Rs 2,130.90, pushing toward the upper end of a range it has held since July 2026. The move came amid broad strength in the water/infra EPC space, after Enviro Infra Engineers surged nearly 10% on securing a Rs 190-crore EPC contract from Tata Power Renewable Energy for a 180-MW NTPC wind project, while Denta Water and Infra Solutions also gained (Source: Money control). On the chart, VA Tech Wabag has been consolidating within a converging range since the July highs near 2,250, with today's move accompanied by a volume surge and RSI at 65.74, both pointing to renewed participation. Resistance: 2,220, then the range highs near 2,2250. Support: 1,950-1,850. A sustained close above the 2,250-2260 zone would mark a move past the range's upper boundary, potentially opening the path for the next leg higher. Failure to hold above this zone would keep the stock within its multi-month consolidation. VA Tech Wabag's range-top test alongside sector-wide strength makes it one to track for a possible range breakout, contingent on the move holding. A multi-month consolidation range often resolves with a volume-backed move at its boundary — the follow-through on a close, not the initial push, confirms the breakout. VA Tech Wabag Secures ₹100–250 Crore ETP Order from Reliance

VA Tech Wabag has bagged a domestic "Medium" order valued between ₹100 crore and ₹250 crore from Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) to design, engineer, and commission an advanced Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) at the Dhirubhai Ambani Green Energy Giga Complex in Jamnagar, Gujarat. Key Highlights: Project Scope & Timeline: The 13-month project will deploy advanced chemical and biological treatment processes alongside low-temperature sludge drying systems. Record Backlog: This win adds to Wabag’s all-time high outstanding order book of approximately ₹19,400 crore (as of June 30, 2026). Strong Financial Backdrop: The order follows a robust Q1 FY27, where the company reported consolidated revenue of ₹886.8 crore. Strategic Rationale: Deepening Client Ties: This contract reinforces a multi-decade partnership with RIL, dating back to Wabag’s first major project in Jamnagar in 1996–1997, showcasing strong client retention. Technology Diversification: The project marks a strategic shift from previous desalination-focused repeat orders to complex, advanced biological and chemical effluent treatment applications tailored for green energy infrastructure. Outlook: This repeat order validates VA Tech Wabag’s technical execution capabilities and solidifies its position as a preferred partner for industrial water management. The 13-month execution timeline provides steady, near-term revenue visibility, perfectly aligning with the company’s asset-light, technology-driven EPC and high-margin O&M business model.
