Larsen & Toubro (L&T) concluded the financial year 2024-25 with a strong performance, reporting a 15% year-on-year increase in consolidated Profit After Tax (PAT) to ₹15,037 crore. Order inflow for the year hit a record ₹3.5 lakh crore, growing 18% annually, with a significant portion coming from international markets. Revenue also saw a healthy 16% increase, crossing ₹2.5 lakh crore. The company's board has recommended a final dividend of ₹34 per equity share for FY 2024-25. L&T continues to secure substantial contracts across various sectors. Recently, they bagged "significant" orders (₹1,000-₹2,500 crore) from the Rajasthan government for water supply projects. They also secured large government contracts (₹2,500-₹5,000 crore) for buildings in Delhi and Andhra Pradesh. Further expanding their footprint, L&T is actively pursuing opportunities in the nuclear energy sector, specifically small modular reactors (SMRs), and is scouting for global technology partners. In a pioneering move towards sustainable finance, L&T recently raised ₹500 crore through India's first listed ESG bond under SEBI's new framework, in partnership with HSBC. This initiative underscores their commitment to environmental goals like water neutrality by 2035 and carbon neutrality by 2040. The company also saw a legal win as the Supreme Court upheld the scrapping of a ₹14,000 crore Mumbai road tender, providing relief to L&T and opening avenues for fresh bids.
