Tata Motors Latest Upfates

Recent Corporate Restructuring (Demerger) Tata Motors has completed the separation of its commercial vehicle (CV) and passenger vehicle (PV) businesses into two independent publicly listed entities. The demerger officially became effective on October 1, 2025, with a record date of October 14, 2025. The existing listed entity, which includes the passenger vehicle, electric vehicle (EV), and Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) operations, has been renamed Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited (TMPV). Its stock symbol has been changed to TMPV starting October 24, 2025. The commercial vehicle business, now a separate entity, is named TML Commercial Vehicles Limited (TMLCV). This entity is expected to eventually be renamed Tata Motors Limited and will house all CV operations. Shareholder Allocation and Listing Eligible shareholders who held Tata Motors shares as of the record date (October 14, 2025) received TMLCV shares in a 1:1 ratio (one TMLCV share for every one Tata Motors share held). While TMLCV shares have been credited to demat accounts, they are currently frozen and cannot be traded. The separate listing and commencement of trading for TMLCV shares are expected around November 2025, pending final regulatory approvals. Business Performance and Outlook Tata Motors reported strong sales during the recent festive season, delivering over 1 lakh vehicles in the 30-day period from Navratri to Diwali. This marks a significant 33% growth compared to the same period last year. The growth was primarily driven by robust demand for its SUV range and continued traction in the Electric Vehicle (EV) portfolio. However, S&P Global Ratings recently revised its outlook on TMPV to 'Negative' from 'Stable'. This change reflects concerns over a prolonged operational disruption at JLR following a recent cyber incident, which is expected to weaken TMPV's credit metrics for an extended period.
