MOLBIO
Molbio Diagnostics is a healthcare technology company specialising in point-of-care molecular diagnostics through its proprietary Truenat platform. Its portable, battery-operated PCR systems enable rapid testing for infectious diseases, including tuberculosis, in hospitals, laboratories and remote healthcare settings.
The company has an international footprint, with more than 12,500 Truenat devices deployed across 90+ countries. Its growth strategy includes expanding test-kit consumption, entering new markets and developing additional assays for diseases beyond infectious conditions.
FY26 consolidated revenue increased to approximately ₹1,445.7 crore from ₹1,020.4 crore in FY25, while PAT rose to ₹164.1 crore from ₹138.6 crore. Q1 FY27 total income reached ₹411.5 crore, compared with ₹100.5 crore in Q1 FY26, while EBITDA improved to ₹103.7 crore from a loss of ₹14.5 crore and PAT reached ₹52.7 crore versus a loss of ₹23.9 crore. However, management noted that approximately ₹57 crore of export orders delayed from Q4 FY26 were recognised in Q1 FY27, and that quarterly revenue can be uneven.
At approximately ₹1,472, Molbio's market capitalisation was about ₹16,631 crore, with a P/E of 101.3x, P/B of 12.1x and ROE of 14.25%, according to Groww's latest displayed data. The long-term opportunity lies in higher test-kit consumption, expansion into Africa, Southeast Asia and Latin America, and its pipeline of 34 assays covering 22 diseases. However, valuation is demanding, while revenue concentration is a key risk: around 80% of FY26 revenue came from government-related business and approximately 70% from tuberculosis testing.
Overall, Molbio has differentiated technology, a global distribution opportunity and substantial operating leverage, but sustained growth beyond tuberculosis, diversification of customers and consistent cash generation will be crucial to justify its premium valuation.#StockInNews#WatchOutFor#HiddenGems#FundamentalViews#EquityResearch
