Prism Johnson Ltd – Company Analysis
$PRSMJOHNSN Prism Johnson Ltd is a diversified building-materials company operating across three core businesses: Prism Cement, H & R Johnson tiles and Prism RMC ready-mix concrete. This integrated presence gives the company exposure to India's housing, infrastructure and construction spending cycle. FY26 showed meaningful operational improvement, with consolidated revenue rising 8.4% to around ₹7,404 crore and EBITDA increasing 52.1% to ₹693 crore. Despite the improvement in EBITDA, profitability remains inconsistent. Q4 FY26 revenue increased 7.7% year-on-year to approximately ₹2,110 crore, but operating profit declined sharply and the company reported a consolidated loss of around ₹16 crore from continuing operations. FY26 profit before tax from continuing operations was ₹145.7 crore, compared with ₹49.9 crore in FY25, showing underlying improvement but still relatively modest profitability for the scale of the business. The company's three divisions also face different challenges: cement is exposed to industry pricing and energy costs, tiles face gas-cost pressure, while RMC remains sensitive to project execution and receivables. Going forward, Prism Johnson's biggest opportunity is the combination of India's infrastructure and housing growth with continued deleveraging and margin improvement. Lower debt should gradually reduce finance costs and strengthen cash flows, while better utilization and cost efficiency across Cement, HRJ and RMC could improve returns. However, investors should not mistake the 52% EBITDA growth for a clean earnings turnaround yet; Q4 profitability clearly shows that significant challenges remain. Overall, Prism Johnson is a turnaround-oriented building-materials opportunity with improving balance-sheet strength and operating performance, but sustained net profitability and stronger return ratios are essential before it can be considered a high-quality compounder.
