AXISBANK
Axis Bank reported standalone profit after tax of approximately ₹7,003 crore for the September 2026 quarter, up around 38% year-on-year. Consolidated net profit rose approximately 39.4% to ₹7,704.67 crore.
These figures make the quality of earnings an important subject for investors.
Four things I would check:
Credit costs
Are provisions stable, and is the bank maintaining disciplined lending standards?
Net interest margin
Can the bank protect profitability as deposit costs and lending yields change?
Loan growth
Is the bank expanding across retail and corporate lending without taking excessive risk?
Earnings sustainability
How much of the profit increase comes from recurring operations rather than exceptional items?
My view
The reported profit growth is encouraging, but the complete financial statements matter more than the headline percentage. Investors should assess asset quality, margins and management guidance before assuming the momentum will continue.
I would also compare the results with market expectations and the stock's existing valuation.
