Nifty Slips Below 24,500, Ends 203 Points Lower Amid Broad-Based Sell-Off
Markets ended lower on Thursday as the Nifty 50 declined over 1%, slipping below the 24,500 mark. The index closed 203 points down at 24,609.70, after falling as much as 351 points intraday amid weak global cues and profit booking. Sectorally, Nifty FMCG was the top loser, down 1.44%, dragged by Colgate-Palmolive ( COLPAL ), which plunged nearly 6.5%. Nifty IT also featured among the top three losing sectors, falling 1.31%, led by Tech Mahindra ( TECHM ), which declined 2.04%. Overall, market sentiment remained cautious, with pressure across heavyweights.
