Indian equity benchmarks traded firmly in the red on Tuesday, with the Sensex declining more than 400 points and the Nifty hovering around the 24,180 mark. The Sensex was down 400 points, while the Nifty slipped 100 points, IT stocks bore the brunt of the selling pressure, with the sectoral index declining nearly 1.5%. Realty and PSU Bank stocks also remained weak. Meanwhile, Oil & Gas gained 0.61%, while Auto and Pharma stocks traded with gains.
