BEML
BEML shares rose more than 3% in morning trading on Friday after the company secured an order worth over ₹5,400 crore from the National High Speed Rail Corporation Ltd (NHSRCL) for the Mumbai–Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR) corridor. BEML shares were trading at ₹2,087 on the NSE, up 3.66% from the previous close. The stock touched an intraday high of ₹2,121. It has gained 4.8% over the past month and is up 11.5% so far this year.
According to the company’s regulatory filing, the contract includes the supply and maintenance of high-speed rolling stock, along with allied works for the MAHSR corridor. BEML stated that the order was received in the normal course of business. In 2024, Integral Coach Factory awarded an ₹866-crore contract to the BEML–Medha consortium for the design, manufacture and commissioning of two eight-car high-speed trainsets. The trains are designed to operate at a maximum speed of 280 kmph and an operational speed of 250 kmph. A follow-on order for 16 trainsets was reportedly expected.
Last month, BEML Chairman and Managing Director Shantanu Roy told CNBC-TV18 that the company anticipated stronger performance in the current financial year and was targeting approximately 30% revenue growth. BEML is also aiming for around ₹20,000 crore in order inflows this fiscal year, subject to the finalisation of key tenders. Roy said the company has order prospects worth more than ₹40,000 crore across the rail and metro segments, with additional opportunities emerging in other businesses.#StockInNews
