Cipla Expands Oncology Portfolio with Key ADC Deal

CIPLA
Cipla is in focus after entering into an exclusive licensing and supply agreement with Sino Biopharmaceutical’s subsidiary CTTQ for TQB2102, a HER2-targeted bispecific antibody-drug conjugate (ADC). The deal gives Cipla rights to develop and commercialise the therapy in India, South Africa and five other emerging markets. TQB2102 is currently being evaluated for HER2-expressing cancers, including HER2-low advanced breast cancer. Cipla will handle local clinical development, regulatory activities and commercialisation, while CTTQ will continue manufacturing and supplying the drug. Separately, Cipla’s US subsidiary has partnered with China’s Qilu Pharmaceutical to license a biosimilar version of Merck’s Keytruda for the US market. The partnership strengthens Cipla’s strategy to expand its presence in complex biologics and oncology products. The latest deals could improve Cipla’s long-term product pipeline and strengthen its position in high-growth oncology markets. However, investors will continue to monitor regulatory developments, US business performance and the company’s ability to successfully commercialise these new products.
