JSW Steel reported a strong performance for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, with its consolidated net profit more than doubling year-on-year to ₹4,696 crore, driven by higher steel prices and robust operational performance. The Mumbai-based steelmaker had posted a consolidated net profit of ₹2,209 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. Revenue from operations rose 9.8% to ₹47,364 crore during the April–June quarter of FY27, compared with ₹43,147 crore in the same period last year. The company's earnings significantly surpassed analysts' average estimate of around ₹3,111 crore, according to data compiled by the London Stock Exchange Group. Operationally, JSW Steel recorded a 4% increase in sales volumes to 6.25 million tonnes (MT), while steel production grew 3% year-on-year to 6.59 MT. Adjusted for foreign exchange losses, the company's EBITDA stood at ₹9,373 crore, up 32% from a year earlier. On a per-tonne basis, adjusted EBITDA increased 27% to ₹14,990, reflecting improved steel realisations and favourable cost dynamics. During the quarter, JSW Steel incurred capital expenditure of ₹4,869 crore across its ongoing expansion and refurbishment projects at Vijayanagar and Dolvi, along with its new electric arc furnace project in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh. The company has guided capital expenditure of up to ₹24,000 crore for FY27 as it continues to expand its manufacturing capacity and strengthen its long-term growth prospects.
