JSW Steel Q1 FY27: Profit Doubles as Debt Falls Sharply

$JSWSTEEL l delivered a stellar performance in Q1 FY27, with consolidated net profit more than doubling year-on-year. The surge was driven by higher volumes, improved realisations, and lower input costs, particularly coking coal. Revenue remained largely stable, while operating EBITDA rose significantly on the back of better margins and operational efficiencies. Notably, the company achieved a sharp reduction in net debt — down by several thousand crore — strengthening its balance sheet to a healthy leverage position. Crude steel production and sales volumes grew solidly, supported by robust domestic demand in auto, retail, and infrastructure segments. Capacity utilisation remained strong despite some maintenance shutdowns.
