Jupiter Wagons Shares Surge 13% on Rs 215-Crore Vande Bharat Wheelset Order

ons Ltd soared by up to 12.72% in intraday trading on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), reaching a high of Rs 371.80 per share, following the announcement of a significant order for Vande Bharat train wheelsets. The stock, which opened with a 6.11% gain, reversed the previous day's losses and maintained strong upward momentum throughout the trading session on August 21.
The rally was triggered by a company filing with the exchange, stating that its subsidiary, Jupiter Tatravagonka Railwheel Factory Private Limited, received a Letter of Intent (LoI) dated August 19, 2025, for the supply of 5,376 wheelsets for Vande Bharat trains. The order, valued at approximately Rs 215 crore, underscores Jupiter Wagons' growing role in supporting India’s ambitious high-speed rail infrastructure under the 'Make in India' initiative.
The Vande Bharat trains, known for their semi-high-speed capabilities and indigenous design, are a flagship project of Indian Railways aimed at modernizing passenger travel. The wheelsets, critical components for ensuring the trains' safety and performance, will be supplied by Jupiter Wagons’ advanced manufacturing facilities, further solidifying the company’s position in the railway equipment sector.
