& Toubro (L&T) shares tumbled over 7% on March 4, 2026, hitting a five-week low as escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East triggered sharp selling. The stock has now lost about 12.5% in the last four trading sessions.
At 10:25 AM IST, L&T was trading around ₹3,760, emerging as one of the top losers on the Nifty, which itself was down 1.8% in morning trade.
The company has significant exposure to the region, with the Middle East contributing roughly 37% of its ₹7.33 lakh crore order book. In the first nine months of FY26 (Apr–Dec 2025), international orders reached ₹1,91,084 crore, forming 55% of total inflows, with a large share coming from Middle Eastern markets.
Investors are concerned about potential project delays, supply chain disruptions, workforce safety issues, and slower new order wins amid the ongoing regional unrest. While some brokerages view the current dip as an overreaction given L&T’s strong execution track record and diversified portfolio, the stock remains under pressure until stability returns to the region.#StockInNews#WatchOutFor#EquityResearch#MacroViews
