MTNL Fined ₹1 Lakh by TRAI for Service Quality Non-Compliance

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has imposed a ₹1 lakh penalty on Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) for violating the Standards of Quality of Service of Basic Telephone Service (Wireline) and Cellular Mobile Telephone Service Regulations, 2009, for the quarter ending June 2024. The order, issued on September 16, 2025, mandates MTNL to pay the fine of ₹1,00,000. According to MTNL, this penalty will not have a material impact on its financial operations or other activities.
