Nigam Limited (RVNL) saw its share price climb nearly 2% in early trading today, reaching Rs 364.75 on the BSE by 9:20 A.M. IST, up Rs 5.80 or 1.62% from its previous close of Rs 358.95. The surge follows RVNL's announcement of emerging as the lowest bidder (L1) for a Rs 145.34 crore project from Southern Railway.
The project involves the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of Scott-connected traction substations, including power quality compensating equipment, switching posts (SP/SSP), a 2x25 kV autotransformer feeding system, SCADA integration, and an Automatic Fault Locator (AFL). It will be executed in the Jolarpettai Junction–Salem Junction (JTJ-SA) section of Southern Railway’s Salem Division, supporting the Mission 3000MT loading target. Valued at Rs 145,34,66,865.48, the project is slated for completion within 540 days.
This marks RVNL’s second major win this month, following a Rs 169.48 crore contract from West Central Railway on September 10 for a similar traction substation project. Additionally, in August, RVNL strengthened its strategic position by signing a joint venture agreement with Texmaco Rail & Engineering, holding a 51% stake to pursue railway and infrastructure projects.
Despite the recent uptick, RVNL’s stock is trading 31.82% below its 52-week high of Rs 535.00 (September 23, 2024) and 23.54% above its 52-week low of Rs 295.25 (April 7, 2025). The company’s market capitalization stands at Rs 76,051.11 crore, reflecting strong investor confidence in its growing order book and infrastructure focus.
With these developments, RVNL continues to solidify its role as a key player in India’s railway modernization, keeping its shares in sharp focus for investors.#WatchOutFor#StockInNews
