Godrej Consumer Products Expands Indonesia Manufacturing

Godrej Consumer Products Limited

GODREJCP
, through its subsidiary Godrej Consumer Products Indonesia (GCPI), has inaugurated the first phase of a new manufacturing facility in the Kendal Special Economic Zone, Indonesia. The facility is part of an IDR 500 billion investment, equivalent to approximately ₹250 crore, aimed at strengthening GCPL’s manufacturing presence and supporting its long-term growth in Indonesia. The first phase has been developed over 2.5 hectares of GCPI’s total 5.5-hectare site and is dedicated to manufacturing household insecticides. The plant will cater to domestic demand while also providing additional capacity to support regional exports. The overall investment is expected to increase the company’s home and personal care manufacturing capacity in Indonesia by approximately 15%. This capacity addition is strategically important as GCPL’s existing Indonesian manufacturing operations are running at around 75–80% capacity utilisation. Indonesia has been an important market for Godrej Consumer Products since its entry in 2010. The company’s Indonesian business has expanded about 4.5 times since then, while brands such as HIT, Stella, Mitu and NYU now reach approximately one in four Indonesian households. The Kendal facility has also been designed with technology and data embedded into operations to improve visibility, efficiency and operating speed. Beyond capacity expansion, the investment strengthens Indonesia’s role as a potential regional export base for GCPL. The company is also emphasizing inclusive employment, with an ambition for women to represent 50% of the facility’s workforce and opportunities to be created for persons with disabilities. Overall, the Kendal investment should help GCPL address rising regional demand, reduce capacity constraints and provide a scalable manufacturing platform for future growth in Indonesia and surrounding markets.
