NSE Raises ₹6,746 Crore Ahead of Mega IPO

The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) has raised ₹6,746.18 crore from anchor investors ahead of its much-awaited initial public offering (IPO), attracting participation from several prominent domestic and global institutional investors. NSE allocated 3.78 crore equity shares at ₹1,785 per share, the upper end of its IPO price band. The anchor allocation saw participation from marquee investors including Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), Goldman Sachs, Fidelity, Government Pension Fund Global, Monetary Authority of Singapore, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and Morgan Stanley, among others.

LICI
emerged as the largest individual anchor investor, receiving 22.43 lakh shares worth approximately ₹400.30 crore. Foreign portfolio investors accounted for around ₹2,883 crore, or nearly 43% of the anchor book, while domestic mutual funds, insurance companies and pension funds also participated substantially. According to market sources, demand for the anchor allocation was close to ₹1.2 lakh crore, roughly 20 times the shares available in the anchor book. The NSE IPO is scheduled to open for public subscription on September 17, 2026, with a price band of ₹1,700–₹1,785 per share. The issue is structured as an offer for sale (OFS), meaning the proceeds will accrue to existing shareholders rather than NSE itself. The strong institutional participation comes as NSE prepares for its long-awaited public-market debut after years of regulatory and other delays.
