Bharat Electronics wins ₹633 crore order from Cochin Shipyard

BEL
Navratna defence Public Sector Undertaking, Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL), has secured a significant order valued at ₹633 crore from Cochin Shipyard. This contract encompasses the supply of crucial equipment for various naval applications, specifically covering sensors, weapon systems, fire control mechanisms, and communication equipment. This win reinforces BEL's strategic role as a key provider of integrated defence technology solutions. This latest achievement adds to BEL's robust order inflow, following recent substantial contracts including ₹592 crore secured last week and ₹712 crore in mid-September. Collectively, these recent orders span a diverse portfolio, including tank subsystems, ship data networks, combat management systems, the Train Collision Avoidance System (Kavach), laser dazzlers, jammers, and various spares, upgrades, IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and blockchain platforms. The continuous momentum in order book accretion complements BEL’s strong financial trajectory. In Q1 FY26, the company reported revenue of ₹4,417 crore (5.2% YoY growth). More notably, its operational efficiency was highlighted by a 32.2% surge in EBITDA to ₹1,240.4 crore, expanding the EBITDA margin significantly to 28.1% from 22.3% in the prior year, primarily driven by favourable product mix and effective execution. This substantial order book position and healthy financial performance are expected to place BEL in the investment spotlight.
