Vascon Engineers Ltd. (Order Inflow & Financial Update)

VASCONEQ
Major Contract Award: Qualcomm India Facility Vascon Engineers has secured a significant design-and-build Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) contract valued at ₹660.79 crore from Qualcomm India. The mandate entails the development of a premier commercial office facility (Block K) in Bengaluru, encompassing three basements, a ground floor, twelve upper floors, and associated infrastructure. The project is slated for completion within a 30-month timeframe from the date of site handover, injecting substantial medium-term revenue visibility into the company's pipeline. Order Book Accretion & Momentum This marquee corporate win follows another recent infrastructure mandate. Last month, Vascon Engineers secured a Letter of Intent from the Public Works Department (PWD), Nagpur, for a contract valued at ₹126.4 crore to develop a general hospital. Together, these orders signal positive momentum in the company's order inflow trajectory across both private commercial and public infrastructure segments. Q1 Financial Performance Overview Despite the robust order book additions, the company's recent operational performance has exhibited notable weakness, creating a near-term overhang. Revenue & Profitability: First-quarter operational revenue contracted 31% YoY to ₹151.94 crore (down from ₹221.18 crore). Profit After Tax (PAT) witnessed a steep 91% YoY decline, falling to ₹2.01 crore from ₹22.47 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal. Market Reaction & Price Action The market reacted highly favorably to the Qualcomm order announcement, driving the stock up by 14.1% in early intraday trading to a high of ₹38 per share. The stock subsequently pared a portion of these gains, stabilizing at a 3.9% advance to trade at ₹34.60. While the scrip has appreciated 12.6% over the past month on the back of these contract wins, it remains down 22.8% year-to-date, largely pricing in the subdued first-quarter financials.
