ndian benchmark indices concluded Tuesday's session on a firm footing, with the Nifty closing near the key 24,000 mark, supported by strong buying across IT, FMCG, energy, media, consumer durable, and realty stocks. At the closing bell, the Sensex surged 544.15 points (0.71%) to settle at 76,808.48, while the Nifty 50 advanced 135.25 points (0.57%) to end at 23,989.15. Among the top performers on the Nifty were $HCLTECH , $TATACONSUM , $HINDUNILVR , $BAJAJFINSV , and $NTPC , which led the gains. On the downside, $HINDALCO , $JSWSTEEL , $HDFCLIFE e, $EICHERMOT , and $APOLLOHOSP emerged as the major laggards. Sectoral performance remained largely positive, with all key indices ending in the green except Auto, Pharma, PSU Banks, and Metals. The strongest gains were witnessed in Information Technology, FMCG, Realty, Energy, Media, and Consumer Durables, which rose between 1% and 2% during the session. The broader market also participated in the rally, with both the Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap indices gaining approximately 0.4% each, reflecting sustained investor interest across segments.
