Closing Sensex Falls 330 Points, Nifty Slips Below 23,350

Indian benchmark indices ended lower on September 22, with the Nifty closing below 23,350 amid selling pressure in IT and select heavyweight stocks. The Sensex declined 329.91 points, or 0.44%, to 74,529.08, while the Nifty fell 85.30 points, or 0.36%, to 23,329. Tata Consumer Products, Bajaj Finserv, Nestle India, Bajaj Finance and Grasim Industries were among the major Nifty laggards. On the other hand, Coal India, InterGlobe Aviation, Eternal, Titan Company and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories ended higher. Sector-wise, the Media index gained 1% and Realty advanced 0.9%, while IT declined nearly 1%. FMCG, PSU Bank, Pharma and Oil & Gas indices each slipped around 0.5%.
