Indian equities closed weaker on Thursday, reversing early gains as investors paused following October’s strong rally. Losses in financial and metal counters dragged down the Sensex and Nifty, marking a second consecutive day of declines, while midcap and small-cap shares experienced sharper corrections. The S&P BSE Sensex shed 148.14 points, or 0.18%, to settle at 83,311.01, while the NSE Nifty 50 slipped 87.95 points, or 0.34%, to finish at 25,509.70. Among the 30 Sensex constituents,

led the losses, retreating between 1% and 3%. RIL rose 1.6%, snapping a four-session losing streak.
GRASIM
Industries plunged 6.3%, emerging as the biggest Nifty 50 underperformer, after Rakshit Hargave, CEO of its paints division Birla Opus, stepped down to join Britannia Industries. Meanwhile, rival Asian Paints surged 4.7% after Nomura upgraded the stock to “buy” from “neutral,” noting that concerns over potential disruption from Birla Opus had yet to materialize.
ADANIENT
