Market Highlights: Indian benchmark indices finished the session on a strong note, supported by a robust rally in information technology stocks. The BSE Sensex gained 382.50 points (0.52%) to close at 74,649.84, with 20 of its 30 constituents ending in positive territory, while 10 stocks settled lower. During the trading session, the Sensex witnessed significant volatility, rebounding sharply from an intraday low of 73,815.12 to touch a high of 74,862.19, marking a recovery of over 1,047 points from the day's bottom. Among the Sensex heavyweights, $TCS (TCS) emerged as the top performer, soaring 6.53%, followed by $INFY s (+5.66%), $HCLTECH (+4.08%), and $TECHM (+1.76%). Other notable gainers included $ADANIPORTS , $TITAN , $ETERNAL nal, $HDFCBANK , and Mahindra & Mahindra. On the losing side, $NTPC , $AXISBANK , $POWERGRID , and $ICICIBANK Bank were among the major underperformers. Sector-wise, the BSE Information Technology Index surged 4.40%, making it the standout performer of the day and providing strong support to the broader market. In the commodities market, Brent crude oil, the international benchmark, eased 1.28% to USD 93.76 per barrel, offering some relief on the inflation and import-cost front. Overall, the market ended with a positive bias, driven primarily by strong buying interest in technology stocks despite weakness in select banking and power counters.
