Dow Soars 1,000 Points, Nasdaq Jumps Nearly 4% on US-China Tariff Truce Wall Street futures surged after a joint statement from the U.S. and China announced a temporary truce in the ongoing trade war. Both countries agreed to suspend most planned tariff hikes for 90 days. The U.S. reduced tariffs on Chinese goods from 145% to 30%, while China cut its tariffs from 125% to 10%. As a result, Dow futures soared 1,000 points, while S&P 500 and Nasdaq futures rose by 180 and 815 points, respectively.
