IRB Infrastructure Developers Limited’s sponsored public trust, IRB InvIT Fund, has successfully completed a ₹2,351 crore capital raise through an Institutional Placement (IP) and a Preferential Allotment of units. The transaction marks the second major capital raising exercise by India’s first listed Infrastructure Investment Trust since its initial public offering in 2017.
The primary objective of the equity raise is to fund the acquisition of two operational Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) highway assets from the IRB Infrastructure Trust (Private InvIT), expanding the Public InvIT's asset portfolio and strengthening long-term cash flow distributions.
Currently, IRB Group manages a portfolio of 27 revenue-generating highway assets valued at approximately ₹940 billion across 13 states. With nearly 1.5 million vehicle crossings daily—representing roughly one-tenth of India’s toll revenues—the Group is transitioning from an asset-creation phase into a cash-harvesting phase. Backed by recurring operations and maintenance (O&M) income and InvIT distributions, IRB Group aims to expand its total asset base to approximately ₹1,400 billion by FY2029.#FundamentalViews#StockInNews#WatchOutFor
