NMDC Commissions ₹5,427 Crore Integrated Iron Ore Project

State-owned mining giant NMDC Limited has officially commissioned its ₹5,427 crore integrated iron ore project in Chhattisgarh. The project connects the company’s iron ore operations at Bacheli with its steel production facilities in Nagarnar, establishing a continuous value chain across processing, transportation, and manufacturing. Key Highlights: Integrated Infrastructure Investment: A comprehensive ₹5,427 crore project featuring a new iron ore processing facility, a high-capacity slurry pipeline, and a pellet plant. Pellet Plant Capacity: A 2 million tonne per annum (MTPA) pellet plant located at Nagarnar, utilizing Straight Grate Induration technology. Slurry Pipeline Logistics: A 135 km long slurry pipeline with a 15 MTPA capacity traversing 61 villages across Bastar and Dantewada districts. Resource Efficiency: Enables the conversion of iron ore fines and slimes generated at the Bailadila mines into processed concentrate and high-value pellets for steelmaking. Long-Term Vision: Serves as a key building block in NMDC's strategy to expand its overall iron ore production capacity to 100 million tonnes.
