NTPC : Expands Renewable Footprint with 81.34 MW Project

NTPC Limited, through its subsidiary NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) and step-down subsidiary NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, has officially declared the commercial operation of an 81.34 MW first part capacity at the Kalasar Solar Energy Project in Bikaner, Rajasthan. Effective from 00:00 hours on September 26, 2026, this operational addition represents a major milestone in the execution of the larger 650 MW solar component under the 500 MW REMCL Round-The-Clock (RTC) Project. Important Highlights : Commercial Operation Date (COD): The 81.34 MW capacity achieved commercial operation status starting at 00:00 hrs on September 26, 2026. Project Location & Scale: Situated in Bikaner, Rajasthan, the project forms part of a 650 MW solar component dedicated to the 500 MW REMCL RTC initiative. Execution & Ownership Structure: The project is executed by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of NGEL and step-down subsidiary of NTPC Limited. NTPC Group Portfolio Milestone: Following this addition, the total installed capacity of the NTPC group has risen to 91,302 MW, with commercial capacity reaching 90,222 MW. Green Energy Subsidiary Growth: NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) group's commercial capacity stands at 10,977.23 MW, bringing its total installed capacity to 11,058.57 MW.
