Pyramid Technoplast gets green nod to scale recycling

PYRAMID
Technoplast Limited (PTL) closed 1.56% higher at ₹159.40 on September 23 after receiving Gujarat Pollution Control Board approval to expand its industrial packaging waste recycling operations. The amended authorisation allows the company to handle and recycle up to 960 MT of third-party industrial packaging waste annually, including contaminated barrels, containers and liners. My view is that the approval adds a new revenue opportunity around waste management and recycled products. Pyramid can now accept packaging waste generated by other companies, process it and manufacture up to 9,000 cleaned barrels, drums and containers per month for industrial use or granules. The new capacity complements its existing 1,000 MT per month plastic reprocessed granules capacity. This could improve backward integration and increase the contribution of its recycling business over time. The key question is how quickly Pyramid converts this regulatory approval into commercial volumes. Investors should track third-party customer additions, waste-processing utilisation, recycled product sales and margin contribution. My stance: The approval is a positive business-expansion trigger, but the financial impact will depend on utilisation and customer conversion. Disclosure: I do not hold any position in Pyramid Technoplast Limited (PTL). This post is for informational purposes only and is not investment advice.
