Alkem Labs gives its subsidiary Alkem Wellness control over its trade generics business.

Alkem Laboratories Ltd., a pharmaceutical company, announced on Friday, September 26, that it has signed a business transfer agreement with Alkem Wellness Ltd., its wholly-owned subsidiary, to transfer its trade generics business as a continuing concern on a slump sale basis. Initially hinted at in December 2024, the move will take place on October 1, 2025. The Commissioner (Appeals)-II, CGST & Central Excise, Mumbai, issued an order to Alkem Labs earlier this week under the GST Act, 2017, affirming a demand of ₹35.11 crore and a penalty of ₹3.5 crore for the July 2017–18 to March 2022 period.
