Axis Bank to Raise ₹5,000 Crore via Long-Term NCDs

AXISBANK
is planning to raise up to ₹5,000 crore through a private placement of Series-9 non-convertible debentures (NCDs), structured as fully paid, senior, rated, listed, unsecured, taxable, redeemable long-term bonds. The base issue size is ₹2,000 crore, with a green-shoe option for up to ₹3,000 crore, making the total potential issue ₹5,000 crore. This move is part of the bank’s larger approved plan to raise up to ₹35,000 crore via debt securities, as sanctioned by its board. The announcement comes at a time when Axis Bank is reinforcing its financial flexibility.
