Daily Market Update – 18 June 2025 Wrap
Indian markets ended yesterday on a subdued note, with the Nifty 50 closing at ₹24,853.40 (-0.37%), Sensex at ₹81,583.30 (-0.26%), and Bank Nifty slipping to ₹55,714.15 (-0.41%). GIFT Nifty held relatively steady at ₹24,834.50 (-0.11%) and India VIX dropped sharply to 14.40 (-2.96%), signaling reduced fear in the near term. In global markets early today, US indices reflect mixed sentiments as Nasdaq fell sharply to 19,521.09 (-0.91%) and S&P 500 dropped to 5,982.72 (-0.84%), while Dow Jones held flat at 42,229.62 (+0.03%).
Commodities are seeing mild movements: Brent is at $76.40, Gold edged up to ₹99,438 (+0.26%), and Silver rallied to ₹1,08,750 (+2.05%). On the currency front, the rupee traded at ₹86.24/USD (+0.21%), while EUR/INR stood at ₹99.20 and CNY/INR softened to ₹12.01.
