Grasim Plans ₹1,000 Cr NCD Issue, What It Means for the Business

GRASIM
plans to raise up to ₹1,000 crore through fully-paid, unsecured, listed non-convertible debentures (NCDs) on a private placement basis, in one or more tranches. This decision aligns with the company’s robust consolidated growth trajectory. Over FY22 to FY25, revenue expanded from ₹95,701 crore to ₹1,48,478 crore, while operating profit rose from ₹20,431 crore to ₹28,262 crore. Margins remained healthy, ranging between 18%–22%, with the latest quarterly consolidated revenue hitting ₹44,267 crore and net profit at ₹2,973 crore. However, this momentum does not reflect in the standalone performance, which hasn't shown similar growth. Interest costs have also risen significantly, from ₹1,188 crore in Mar 2022 to ₹3,407 crore in Mar 2025. The capital raise appears aimed at maintaining financial flexibility amid rising costs and to potentially support ongoing expansion or debt refinancing plans. Follow me for mow ugh posts, Thank You!
