HCLTech Accelerates India’s AI Journey with ₹14,257 Crore Investment in Odisha
HCLTech has announced a major expansion in India's AI and technology ecosystem by signing two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the Government of Odisha to establish a Global Technology Center and its first AI Data Center in Bhubaneswar. The company plans to invest ₹14,257 crore in the AI Data Center, including financial assistance from the Odisha government, marking its entry into the full-stack AI infrastructure space. The Global Technology Center is expected to become operational by 2028 and will employ 5,000 professionals, focusing on developing AI-driven digital solutions for global enterprises while creating additional direct and indirect employment opportunities. The AI Data Center will be developed in partnership with AI startup Sarvam and will combine HCLTech's full-stack AI capabilities with Sarvam's foundation models to build sector-specific AI applications for both public and private sectors, while supporting India's sovereign AI and Digital India initiatives through multilingual AI services. The announcement also reflects HCLTech's broader expansion strategy under its New Vistas initiative, which aims to bring technology opportunities closer to emerging talent hubs. With a workforce of more than 170,000 employees across India, this investment further strengthens HCLTech's long-term commitment to innovation, AI infrastructure, and the country's growing digital economy. $HCLTECH Disclaimer: This post is for informational purposes only and not a recommendation to buy or sell any securities.
