Hindustan Copper Initiates Underground Mining in Jharkhand

HINDCOPPER
India's sole vertically integrated copper producer, has launched underground mining operations at its Kendadih mine in Jharkhand's Ghatshila region. This development strengthens the company's full value chain capabilities, from mining through refining, to meet rising demand in power, electric vehicles, and infrastructure sectors. The company recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with NTPC Mining Ltd to jointly pursue auctions for copper and critical minerals blocks, while cooperating on exploration, mining, and processing. This partnership aligns with national goals to boost domestic copper supply and reduce import reliance.
