Kalpataru Projects adds ₹2,025 crore orders
Kalpataru Projects International Limited secured new orders and notifications of awards worth ₹2,025 crore on September 24, taking its financial year-to-date order inflow to ₹13,219 crore.
The new orders cover power transmission and distribution, buildings and factories, and oil and gas projects across Indian and international markets.
The order inflow is now above ₹13,000 crore, while the company is also favourably placed as the L1 bidder for projects exceeding ₹12,000 crore. If these L1 projects convert into orders, the company could have a sizeable order pipeline supporting revenue visibility beyond the current year.
The latest order win also needs to be viewed with the Q1 numbers. Kalpataru Projects reported a 45% year-on-year rise in net profit to ₹310 crore, while revenue increased 4% to ₹6,401.8 crore. EBITDA rose 7% to ₹562 crore and the EBITDA margin improved to 8.77% from 8.51%.
My view is that the order intake is more significant than the ₹2,025 crore headline alone. The combination of ₹13,219 crore order inflow and more than ₹12,000 crore of L1 positions gives visibility on future execution. However, the key monitor now is conversion of the L1 pipeline and whether margins continue to improve as the order book gets executed. Revenue growth remains relatively moderate, so order growth needs to translate into actual execution and cash flows.
Kalpataru Projects International Limited is currently trading around ₹1,395.4, down 1.16%. I would watch ₹1,400 as the immediate price zone and ₹1,450 as the next level. A sustained move above ₹1,450 with continued order wins would strengthen the technical setup. A break below ₹1,350 would make me more cautious.
Stance: Positive on the order pipeline, but I would track execution, margins and cash flows before becoming more aggressive.
