L&T Strengthens Order Book with 10th Major Order Win in a Month
Larsen & Toubro (L&T) continues to see strong order momentum, with its L&T Energy Hydrocarbon (LTEH) Offshore business securing an “ultra-mega” order from a reputed client in West Asia, taking the total number of order wins announced since July 20 to 10. L&T classifies orders above ₹15,000 crore as ultra-mega, and the latest win takes the cumulative value of orders announced during this period to approximately ₹92,500 crore at the lower end of the applicable ranges and ₹1.25 lakh crore at the upper end.
The 10 orders comprise one Large order of ₹2,500–5,000 crore, three Major orders of ₹5,000–10,000 crore each, three Mega orders of ₹10,000–15,000 crore each and three Ultra-mega orders of ₹15,000 crore or more, announced between July 20 and August 17. The latest project involves the development of multiple offshore facilities, with LTEH Offshore handling engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning of onshore facilities, while a significant part of the fabrication work will be carried out at L&T’s integrated manufacturing facilities.
From a fundamental perspective, the frequency and size of these wins are positive for order-book visibility and future execution, although the actual earnings impact will depend on execution timelines, margins and conversion of orders into revenue. This comes after a mixed June-quarter performance, where EBITDA missed expectations but order inflows exceeded estimates, while management retained its guidance for FY27. Of the 33 analysts covering L&T, two currently see the stock reaching up to ₹5,000 per share, indicating that expectations around sustained order growth remain an important factor for the stock.
